Homemade Cashew Butter

Hello and Happy Sunday 🙂

This week I made a Cashew Butter at home. Lately, I am trying different butters from seeds and nuts, and this is one of them. Basically, the recipe and method are the same, just the quantity varies.

It is simple, quick, and healthy spread with a versatile use 🙂

You will need a strong blender to achieve a smooth consistency. I have tried with some small choppers, and I wasn’t able to make a spread.

Lately, I have been preparing sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, and cashew butters, and I love them.

Servings: 800 gr.
Time To Prepare:30 min

Ingredients:
  • 1kg raw cashews
  • 10-12 tbsp. olive oil or grapeseed oil

How To:
  1. Place the cashews in a baking tray.
  2. Place the tray in a preheated oven for about 20 min on medium heat( 15-170 degrees).
  3. From time to time, mix the cashews so they don’t burn from the top.
  4. Take it out and leave it to cool down.
  5. Place all the cashews and the oil in the Blendre and mix until a homogeneous mixture.
  6. And now you have a healthy homemade spread 🙂
  7. Place it in glass jars with airtight lids.
  8. Because it is cashews, it is slightly sweet. If you want, you can add sea salt at the end before taking it out of the blender and pulse for a few sec.

Bear in mind you may need to pause while mixing if your cashews are warm, as it gets very heated due to the high speed. Or at least mine was like this.

The spread above is quite thick, but if you want to make it more liquid or spreadable, just double the oil.
