Hello Everyone,
Today will write about a curious building I found last year and lately have come across a few times. I was unsure what it was used for, but it piqued my curiosity, and I learned something new.

Doesn’t it look interesting?
After searching on the internet for a while, I found that this is a type of barn, and the official name is Halls Barn. It was built around 1743 with the Whitehall House Estate, but currently, just the barn has survived the years. It appears to be a more miniature replica of another similar building in county Kildare, “The Wonderful Barn”.
According to one description, it was designed like a granary barn with living spaces on the first and second floor and spiral staircases on the outside. Unfortunately, it is not active, and you can not go and visit it; just walking around, you can take a few photos. Maybe if you contact the building owners, they can let you in, but it is less likely.
It is a hidden gem away from the city centre, in the Rathfarnham residential area. It can be found easy when approached from Dundrum, which is another suburb area.

Looking on the map discovered a few more of these monuments but haven’t had the chance to go yet. It is just amazing how you can rediscover the city and learn something new.
A few more photos of the building.
Thank you for reading 🙂
