Veggie Crakes

Hello Everyone and Happy Friday 🙂

One of my favorite meals is crackers. Well, I know they are not a meal, but I could finish a packet of crakes in one meal, especially with cheese and they turn into my dinner hehe.
This cracker idea comes from having too much leftover frozen celery pulp. I was juicing celery and I froze the leftover pulp for soups or in this case for these snacks.

  • 300 gr. celery pulp or celery puree
  • 300 gr sour dough starter or (mix 120 ml. water and 180 gr. flour)
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 3 tbsp. grapeseed’s oil

Optional:

  • 50 gr. mixed seeds or of your choice
  1. As my mum was visiting me she had prepared sourdough starter, I am still learning how to prepare. If you know how to prepare you can use it. If you don’t have a sourdough starter just mix flour and water instead. You will need 300 gr in total.
  2. I prepared the snacks with celery pulp but you can make a celery & carrots puree instead. Just blend celery and carrots and remove the juice by using a cheesecloth.
  3. Now after you have both of the main mixtures we will mix them and prepare the crakes.
  4. In a medium bowl place the veggies puree and the starter and mix well.
  5. Add salt, oil, and if you want any type of seeds.
  6. In a big baking tray covered with oiled baking paper, place one part of the dough.
  7. Spread it with helping yourself with a spatula on a very thin layer.
  8. Place it in a preheated oven on medium heat for 20 -25 degrees.
  9. Take out and when the big sheet cools down break or cut it down into smaller pieces.
  10. Repeat until you finish the mixture dough -it is approximately 2- 3 bakes with a big baking tray.
  11. Enjoy 🙂

Just to warn you or remind you- my food recipes are more experimental sometimes they are successful and sometimes they are not 🙂 This was one of the successful ones. It can be improved more, but most of the time I don’t cook one recipe very often as I want to try so many others.
Let me know if you try this or another of mine 😉
