The second day started with looking for a breakfast spot, and as much as I love croissants, I wanted something healthy 🙂 After walking for a while, I found a place in the city center.

It was a tiny Brazilian spot with a sitting area inside and outside, a cute place offering smothies and acai bowls.
I ordered an acai bowl and strawberry matcha latte, I have never had strawberry matcha, it was nice, but the Acai bowl was tasty.

I was thinking to go The Machines of the Isle of Nantes. Wasn’t sure how long it would take me to go there visit and come back, and I had booked an afternoon boat trip on the Erdre River, so instead decided to go and enjoy the good weather in the Botanical garden. Well from time to time clouds were showing up.

The weather was amazingly warm and I stayed for awhile enjoying the sun.
I thought the garden would be quite big but it was a small garden, well maintained and quite busy during the lunch hours.

They had some kind of sculpture corner which was for kids and interestingly designed. Again in the style of the city- very artistic 🙂

There was a miniature botanical garden in the botanical garden or it looked like that 🙂
There were mixture of old and new building around, and this was an apartment building next to one of the garden entrance.

After staying for a while I wanted to grab something for lunch and as the train station was nearby I went to check the artistically looking coffee, which I saw the previous day, but it was full. Instead I went to grab something sweet from a bakerie.
Photos from the city:

After buying something sweet, I headed towards the boat place to find a place, where I could enjoy the sweets. Clouds started slowly coming but the sun was still shining:) I found a bench close to the river and enjoyed the macaroon I bought earlier- regretted that I didn’t buy one more.
And now time for the boat tour.
At the colection point it seemed most of the people were french, with just few people speaking spanish and seemingly living in the city or in the surroundings.
The tour went through the Erdre River with the tour guide explaining about the area, the houses, the history, and some interesting facts but in French. As much as I was trying to understand her, I couldnt understand a single word, now I think should I start learning french 🙂
She did explain very quickly how to set up an application and to follow in English, but neither I nor a few other English speakers couldn’t download it.
We could do this on the way back and just briefly check some of the places we saw.
I made a couple of pictures but not so many as we were in a close boat and I had reflection in the windows.

Overall it was a nice boat trip and seeing the city from a different perspective.
After going back it was late afternoon and I wanted to eat something more substantial.
Walking in the city center I found a poke bowl spot it looked so cute so I decided to try it – I know not French today but … next time 🙂
It wasn’t as good as the places in Dublin but was ok.
After that, the weather was looking as if it was going to rain but I wanted a sweet treat so I went to the closest bakery to see what they had: I bough Eclar
After coming back to the Hotel the clouds cleared and decided to go for an evening jog- I couldn’t resist trying to run a few kilometers in another city and I did took something just in case I go for a run 🙂
The neighborhood was so quiet and it was a great way to see and have a feel of the everyday neighborhood activity.
It was very tranquil, didn’t see someone else jogging, it seemed as when 8 pm clock hit everyone was home, just a few people coming back from somewhere.

It was a lovely and relaxing day with a lot of food 🙂
To continue…..
